Update Due to an overall lack of interest in the recaps, I have decided to change it up a little bit. Some of the changes will be reflected here, but thanks to Tosh, the Recap process will be a lot more streamlined and I can get them out much faster than usual. This means it shouldn’t take me very long at all (well, except for maybe this one, which will be a 4 week recap, but it will get finished a lot faster than the last one). With that said, One of the updates you will see will be the formatting of the post lists. It now includes the number of comments. Of course, this is total comments, as I can’t really be bothered to look at how many comments were made for the week and which ones were made . With that said, we were also going to try to implement Likes into it as well, but it wouldn’t work, so I will be doing that the old-fashioned way. I was going to find out Most Likes through the AddThis service, which tracks the number of shares a topic got for the week, but doesn’t appear to track the number of likes. Now, a couple other updates for future recaps. The images and links usually posted at the bottom of this tab will likely be replaced . I will also be dropping the Poll Results and New Poll post and implementing it into the Weekly Recap, which means that we need more poll ideas , since it will be a weekly matter now. The Weekly Recap Extreme (December 19th-January 15th)

What’s Up? So this past month has been pretty hectic for me, and thus, my overall activity on the site has died down quite a bit and I haven’t found the time to work on the recaps. So, with 4 weeks gone, and not one single recap, I decided this time, instead of having 4 separate recaps, I would just put them all into one, but instead of loading the recap with individual tabs seen in other recaps, I decided to put each week into its own tab. Anyway, we had a ton of giveaways, a bunch of reviews, and a lot of catch-up work for me to do (thanks guys and gals ). There was a LOT to cover, so your best bet is to go through the date tabs and find out what you might have missed! There were a few things I didn’t know about until I started this… Community News There are a few new things from over the past couple weeks. In case you missed it, Tosh had another Double Points spasm and granted points from the posting through to the rest of November. Since he is always running these types of events, it’s always a good idea to watch out for those and take advantage of them while they’re active! One new feature is the Sitewide Notices , which are located on the top of the sidebar. These let you know of current, ongoing and upcoming events, including contests, giveaways and game nights. Like Halloween, we have winter/holiday-themed banners up at the top again, to get into the festive spirit. So far, we’ve had two up, and Tosh is still open for more, so be sure to make your own and post them here ! And finally, out of charity, Tosh will donate 10% of what the site gets (from ads and purchasing from the Amazon and Zazzle stores) to the Child’s Play charity. If you want to help, be sure to buy things from those stores! The other 90%, of course, is used to help with giveaways and maintaining the site. So it turns out, we had a few contests over the past few weeks. First of all, Markus wound up being the winner of the ModNation Racers giveaway , and has already received his prize. Right after that, we had a giveaway for a copy of Nail’d, in which EdEN won that one . Following that giveaway, Tosh held another one for the co-writers of the site, which included free games, a shirt and points. The winners are listed here . And finally, Tosh had one final, quick Giveaway for a couple of those triggers for the L2 and R2 buttons, with the winners being Macdory and EdEN. Congratulations to those winners! This Week Alrighty, this is part 2 of the late recaps, so I’m finally more than half way done catching up! There were quite a few things going on in the Community that week, and to find out what was going on, be sure to check out the Community News tab. While in there, take note of how Oly managed to take 3 of the 4 weekly recognitions. This Week Yeah, I’m about 2 weeks or so late on this one and I apologize for that. Stuff came up and I hadn’t had time to really post anything on here. It also seems I wasn’t the only one. The Weekly Recap (October 3rd-9th)

This Week Told ya I would get this on here tonight! As for this week’s highlights, there were even more boxset rumors announced, including a Tom Clancy collection and Rayman. There has also been more talk about RDR DLC, as well as the Marshalls being unlocked for multiplayer, the PSN store’s revenues were really high for the month of August, and Uncharted 2 Game of the Year edition has been announced as well. There are a couple commentary posts by EdEN and Ferginator88. You can check out a video of Guerilla Games talking about Move controls in Killzone 3, as well as a few new trailers, including a long one for the upcoming Castlevania game (it also appears we accidentally posted it twice). We also have a few reviews and impressions posts. Ceidz gave us his impressions on Netflix in Canada, Eddie reviews Space Invaders: Infinity Gene, mairondil reviewed Racquet Sports for the Move and Trev reviewed FIFA 11. Also, be sure to check out the trailers and video section for videos of a few games, including Call of Duty: Black Ops and more LBP2 Beta videos. The Weekly Recap (September 26th – October 2nd)

This Week Activity slowed down a bit last week (as in the actual last week, since I was a week late on posting this), except the QuickNews section, where Oly and EdEN were in a post war with a bunch of unnecessary articles . Who was the victor? They got the same number, so I guess it depends on how you look at it. Anyway, enough of that. Some of last week’s highlights include the PS Store getting updated on a Monday, end everyone complained because it was very late in the day when it finally did come up because no one is ever completely satisfied. People are having issues with some 2008-model MadCatz controllers (and a number of fake controllers) since the new firmware update. JCMoorehead talked about Play, Create, Share and how it might influence future gaming. And on that subject, LBP2 has been confirmed to be delayed, as rumors began spreading. Toys R Us has an EyePet Move bundle available (it’s exclusive to them, though). Trev and killburn37 gave us their thoughts on Ghost of Sparta and Sports Champions respectively. Be sure to check out some of the trailers as well (there’s always a handful of those anyway). Oly posted a bunch of LBP2 beta videos, and they’re definitely worth watching. Trev has also posted an article of a tear-down of the Move controller, so if you’re curious about that, check that out, too. Community News Alright, so there are a couple new things on the site. For starters, there is a new forum for the PlayStation Move, so all talk of the controller should be in there. Tosh has also added a timezone feature to your profiles . If you haven’t done so already, there’s a bunch of stuff you can put in there, but most of it’s optional. Winners for the Move giveaway were announced the other day, and that was about the only contest we had running. I will show the winners list on this week’s recap, though. This Week Yeah, another late one, but damn was there a lot. A lot of trailers. Be sure to check out all the videos in case you missed something that might interest you. Personally, the Gran Turismo 5 and Castlevania trailers were probably my favorite. Anyway, besides trailers, we now know for sure that an Ico/Shadow of the Colossus collection will be released next spring, with some updated textures and high definition resolution. The games still have the same look, but are a lot crisper (so don’t expect nicely contrasted colors or anything, but the games are still amazing in their own right). There were a few Kevin Butler videos posted, including an EyePet commercial and an interview with X Play’s Adam Sessler. With the Move released, there were a few new videos for that, as well as announcements like the aforementioned Ico collection possibly getting Move support, Heavy Rain being patched this week, and Ben Feder calling it the Wii HD . As for stuff from us? Sinlock reviewed Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, killburn37 gave us his first thoughts on the Move, Henning/Blackstaffer wrote about cross game chat again, and Darrin showed us his highlights for TGS. There’s quite a bit, so I would definitely suggest looking through this recap! Community News To start off, we updated the Calendar page. It all started with Darrin’s UK and Canada release calendars , which were then added to the main calendar, with the changes described here . And since Tokyo Game Show took place last weekend, Tosh had double points for posting articles until at least Monday, which if you missed out, could have made it a lot easier to get points for the giveaway . For the active chatters, Tosh has also added + and – buttons to expand the chat box , which is helpful for reading my random banter and Oly’s jokes. The Weekly Recap (September 12th-18th)

Here is a nice comparison video showing how far the fire, fog, and other visual effects have come in LBP2 since LBP1. Not very surprising. I’m sure Sony has put some of their top graphics programmers to work on polishing LBP2. Of course, LBP is more about the imaginative game play than eye popping visuals, but stronger visual effects are never a bad thing.
