This new trailer shows “all the ways in which you can grab on, climb up, hold on, pick up, and carry around.” Capcom has just confirmed that the playable demo of the open world action–RPG, Dragon’s Dogma, will be available to download globally via the PlayStation Store on Tuesday, April 24 for NA, and on the European PlayStation Store the following day, Wednesday April 25. Hit the jump for details on what you can expect to see. With your party of three Pawns, the demo allows you to experience the different styles of two of the game’s character classes in two challenging encounters. A melee specialist skilled in both attacks and counterattacks, as the Fighter you will make your way through underground tunnels and chambers before taking on the deadly Chimerain a Prologue quest, set before the events of the main game. Swift and nimble, the Strider’s weapons of choice are bow and daggers, use them well if you are to defeat the mighty Griffin in the open plains surrounding the capital of Gransys. Let your imagination run wild and design both your playable character and main Pawn using the game’s incredibly in-depth character creation tools before you take on the Griffin; purchasers of Dragon’s Dogma will then be able to export both these characters into the full game on its release. Dragon’s Dogma Demo Details and a New Trailer

Yakuza Dead Souls: A Zombie Invasion Starts This Week

Many of us Europeans looked forward to a bloody good time on Valentine’s Day, and now, all of us will be disappointed. David Jaffe, the co-director and co-lead designer behind Twisted Metal, has recently made an announcement that the EU version’s release date will have to be pushed up to a date that he (at the time) was not even aware of, though he did speculate that it will be some time in March. The main reason for this delay is the stricter censorship laws in some of the EU countries, like for example Germany. These laws will force the team to cut some of it’s content, but as David Jaffe himself stated: 99% of the cuts were in the movies and the movies are still intact and I sat with the editor- who was the same editor of the American movies- and we went thru and addressed the notes from Europe and made sure the stories still worked. I, for one, can rest easier knowing that not much actual game-content has been cut, but I suppose we will have to wait and see how much exactly has been changed. How to Redeem Your Free Copy of Battlefield 1943

Here’s the good news: the server browser for consoles has been revealed, and here comes the bad news: there will not be private matches on launch and DICE may be going back on their word to provide Battlefield 1943 to PS3 owners. It just seems to be a poor business move by EA to come out and say this info a few days before release. Needless to say, EA came out and said :“The Limited Edition will not come with BF1943, but with the Back to Karkand expansion.” It seems either they have taken back their original promise, or will include it at a later date for us PS3 owners. Hopefully we’ll get more clarification very soon. Moving on to the server browser which seems to be promising and is only available to console versions of the game. Once you get into the multiplayer screen you’ll have 3 options, leaderboards, quick match, and server browser. Inside the server browser option, you can browse between, friends, history, favorites, and search. Within the list of servers, you will find the name, the number of max players, the map, the mode, it’s rank, and it’s ping. Along with joining, you have the option to refresh, and show filter. In what seems to be the filter screen, it’s possible to specify max players, choose your mode, choose your map, choose your preset (this includes normal, hardcore, and infantry), choose whether the match will be ranked or not, and lastly, choose your region. The regions listed so far are Europe, West US, East US, South US, Japan, and Australia. You can also view running games from Official EA servers, and choose not to display full servers. In the screen detailing server information, it will show you all the basic information on the left, while on the right, you can find a much more detailed list of presets. This includes things like friendly fire, regenerative health, only squad leader spawn, and much more. DICE seems to have really stepped up with this new feature and I can’t wait to try it out tomorrow. Can’t wait to see you all on the battlfield. Until then, stay frosty my friends.
