How many of you own Metal Gear Solid 4? Like currently; right now, sitting on your shelf, begging you to play it with weeping eyes filled with untold promises, hilarity, and putting guards into slightly-less-than-tasteful positions? How many of you knew it comes with multiplayer? It was actually really good. It had issues, but you could arrange the bodies of sleeping real life opponents into creative positions (and if for some reason you actually found someone with a mic, they would probably be swearing at you now). The multiplayer piled on the opportunities for teamwork (nothing quite like the feeling of rescuing your bro from a hostage situation), and had a number of systems that were genuinely pioneered: SOPlink, Nonlethal weapons in multiplayer, cardboard box shenanigans, and of course: lingerie magazines. I could go on about all the reasons why we should all be playing it right now, but this next one should do it nicely Metal Gear Online is falling victim to the Mayan prophecy. Ok its actually closer to: The Servers are being shutdown soon. Important Dates from the above article: March 21: > closure of the MGO online shop. no buying new account slots or the like. Or the DLC’s I think April 24: -Registration of new characters disabled -All Purchasable DLC packs and such become free -”reward shop” purchasables become free; the ingame currency buyables for avatar decoration and whatnot June 12: > End of Online Service Suddenly feel inspired to go play Metal Gear Solid 4 now? I know I do. Word of Forwarning however: The initial download of the multiplayer sometimes takes a hella-long time. It is unarguably worth it though (just leave it on over night). Just use the HTTP method. Still though, offering all of the DLC for free for the last 2 ish months is a all right consolation, and in all fairness it is one of the more fun multiplayer experiences I’ve ever had. =============================================================== Ulterior Motive Time We should Game night this stuff up. Probably even more than once! One last hoorah before the Mayan curse happens. I certainly would want to be involved. So I welcome someone else to take lead on that. Or force me to do it, It just needs to be done.

For anime fans there is a new blu-ray called Redline. Which is about a deadly racing tournament held in the future. I never heard about this movie, so I watched a trailer a few minutes ago and visually it looks pretty amazing. Might be worth a rent. Anything interest you this week? I actually went to the dollar movies with my wife to see Midnight in Paris over the weekend. It was a good movie, but not one that I would own personally. Futurama has returned to television again with Season 6. I liked the original series, but have yet to watch the new season. Is it any good? So, anything interest you this week?
