It’s been over a decade since Tecmo’s fast paced fighter graced a Sony home console. Dead or Alive is my second most favorite fighting game right after Tekken and as a fan of the genre DOA 4 was the only game that made me grab a 360 controller so I was pretty excited when Tecmo announced Dead or Alive 5 will be available on BOTH the PS3 and 360 in 2012. Here’s a look at the pre-alpha version of Dead or Alive 5 revealed during last week’s Tokyo Game Show: With Dead or Alive 5, Soul Calibur V, Street Fighter x Tekken, Virtua Fighter Final Showdown and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 arriving next year, 2012 is going to continue where 2011 left off in terms of excellent fighting games.

Dead Or Alive Is Back On PlayStation

Just wanted to get a little feedback. Do you like having a poll each time we have a game night and the top 2 games that the main host has will get played in the night? How about other game hosts setting up their own games? By the way being a game host is pretty simple. Just invite people to your party and play. It’s best to hang out in the dedicated “PS3Blog.net Game Night” text chat on the XMB of the PS3. Makes it much easier than trying to send messages back and forth! Cheeto decided to become a game host a couple hours before I started mine. But I updated the post with that about a hour or so before so didn’t give people much notice but was worth a shot. I hung out in the PS3Blog.net PlayStation Home Clubhouse about 10-15 minutes early. Foobear408 showed up in his golden money suit which drips money. Pretty cool I must say. Then Kane112 show up and we showed off our brand new Mechjet powers. Foobear just had to try out the golden throne, which matched his golden suit perfectly. Foobear408, Uncydeka1 and myself played Killzone 3 for about 2 hours. Then we switched to Metal Gear Online for a hour or so. Kane112 & Uncydeka1 joined me for that. Kane112 did pretty well playing as Snake in the sneaking mission. Ceidz joined in on the text chat and mentioned he just got Uncharted 2 and was playing single player and loved it. He told us later he tried multiplayer and he wasn’t very good at it. So everyone gets 100 points for showing up to the game night. Uncydeka1 gets another 50 for being a diverse gamer.

Square Enix has released a Teaser for Deus Ex: Human Revolution’s Missing Link DLC. The official DLC Page explains some of the upcoming features: -New layers of conspiracy unveiled -Sprawling new environments -Brand-new characters to interact with -Rebuild Adam’s augmentation set from scratch. Build up a brand new Adam! We are very excited for Deus Ex: Human Revolution fans to be able to further develop Adam’s journey in the game with The Missing Link DLC. The Missing Link propels players into compelling gameplay, beginning with Adam being temporarily stripped of his use of augmentations, new, visually stunning environments and the continuation of Deus Ex: Human Revolution’s conspiracy rich story. It’s all official. a new trailer for one of the most celebrated titles on PC, Crysis, is coming to PS3 and Xbox 360. The trailer confirmed an all new lighting system, new effects and new Nanosuit controls. Crysis is set for release on October 2011, Price is yet to be confirmed.

Recap Despite Comic Con going on in San Diego right now, it’s been a relatively slow week. Pedro put up an editorial about innovation in gaming (and I put up a poll using that as a basis). Speaking of innovation (or lack thereof), a new Zombie game is in the works, this one by Grasshopper Manufacture. We had a few trailers this week. One for Starhawk (which was shown at Comic Con), as well as a Penguin trailer for Batman: Arkham City. We also got a sneak peak at some multiplayer with a new Battlefield 3 trailer as well. We also had a few reviews this week as well. Puzzle Dimension, inFamous 2, and Patapon 3. Be sure to read those and leave comments! With that out of the way, we still have a lot going on, so be sure to read the other tabs for details on giveaways and double points. I definitely suggest taking advantage of the latter to help you with the former. Community News & Game Nights Nothing new this week community wise. The Weekly Recap (July 17th-23rd)

Today is the last day for signing up for our first GT5 tournament, which is to take place this Sunday! Currently, we have 5 people ready to race, so the odds of winning one of the prize cars is VERY good (3/5). If you want to join, be sure to reply here . Right now, with only 5 people, 1st place will get the Corvette and 500 points for the site. If we get more signups, 1st place will get more points, as will all other places (up to 10th). You also get 150 participation points since it will take up a bit of time, but you must finish the tournament to receive any points.

Last Chance for GT5 Tournament Signups!

Recap Being backed up with personal life really makes it hard to get things done on here, but I decided to go ahead and do the past 4 missed recaps all in one post. Hopefully once I get things settled, I’ll be able to do these every Saturday night like I originally intended. I decided to get this done in the wee hours of the morning before more E3 news makes it on here and I’ll be too busy being the Editor in Chief to focus on writing a recap, which will be even more ridiculous if I put it off another week. With that said, May was a pretty busy month with quite a bit of news leading up to E3. First of all, PSN finally came back online, as well as the relaunch of the store. Some of you may have already noticed that the password change server for PSN is still down. I had forgotten what my new PSN password was; I needed to change credit card info and since the password change servers are still down, I couldn’t change it again. Anyway, enough of that. One of the coolest things to announce is that we finally launched our weekly Podcast, called the PS3BlogCast! Each one is about an hour or so long, but because of time constraints, yours truly was only in there on the first episode. Hopefully that can change soon. Madagasca, one of our main reviewers from across the pond is also interested in knowing what kinds of things you’d like us to change/cover in reviews, so if you have any input on that, be sure to respond here . Over the past 4 weeks, we’ve also gotten some new, hidden site trophies, as well as a referral system for those who want to earn points for inviting friends. This poll was live for quite some time, and has garnered a lot of votes during that period. Going by the results, we don’t have too many responsible people. In fact, people with 360s who only came on here to troll the site exceeded the number of people who actually took the time to study or to even go outside. The true dominating force is all of those people who spent that PSN downtime to collect trophies. Those who haven’t been doing much gaming weren’t really trailing that far behind, though, but since that exceeded studying and going outside (and discovering life), I could only assume that those people stared at a blank TV screen until PSN resumed service (or have been watching the newest episodes of fine TV programming like River Monsters and Swamp People). And then there’s the folks who didn’t even know PSN had an outage.
