Currently, we have 5 people ready to race, so the odds of winning one of the prize cars is VERY good (3/5). If you want to join, be sure to reply here . Right now, with only 5 people, 1st place will get the Corvette and 500 points for the site. If we get more signups, 1st place will get more points, as will all other places (up to 10th). Recap Being backed up with personal life really makes it hard to get things done on here, but I decided to go ahead and do the past 4 missed recaps all in one post. Hopefully once I get things settled, I’ll be able to do these every Saturday night like I originally intended. I decided to get this done in the wee hours of the morning before more E3 news makes it on here and I’ll be too busy being the Editor in Chief to focus on writing a recap, which will be even more ridiculous if I put it off another week. With that said, May was a pretty busy month with quite a bit of news leading up to E3. First of all, PSN finally came back online, as well as the relaunch of the store. Some of you may have already noticed that the password change server for PSN is still down. I had forgotten what my new PSN password was; I needed to change credit card info and since the password change servers are still down, I couldn’t change it again. Anyway, enough of that. One of the coolest things to announce is that we finally launched our weekly Podcast, called the PS3BlogCast! Each one is about an hour or so long, but because of time constraints, yours truly was only in there on the first episode. Hopefully that can change soon. Madagasca, one of our main reviewers from across the pond is also interested in knowing what kinds of things you’d like us to change/cover in reviews, so if you have any input on that, be sure to respond here . Over the past 4 weeks, we’ve also gotten some new, hidden site trophies, as well as a referral system for those who want to earn points for inviting friends. This poll was live for quite some time, and has garnered a lot of votes during that period. Going by the results, we don’t have too many responsible people. In fact, people with 360s who only came on here to troll the site exceeded the number of people who actually took the time to study or to even go outside. The true dominating force is all of those people who spent that PSN downtime to collect trophies. Those who haven’t been doing much gaming weren’t really trailing that far behind, though, but since that exceeded studying and going outside (and discovering life), I could only assume that those people stared at a blank TV screen until PSN resumed service (or have been watching the newest episodes of fine TV programming like River Monsters and Swamp People). And then there’s the folks who didn’t even know PSN had an outage. Uncharted 2 Game Night | May 26th

Jcmdaddy was the first to show up & he was feeling under the weather but he still was near the top of the scoreboard. Oly joined in later in the night. It was a fun game night all around, lots of joking around and some fun games. One of the later games we thought we where playing with a 12 year old possesed smoker (you had to be there). Apparently I’ve been calling Jetpacks by the wrong name. The correct name is “Parachute”. I don’t recall the name of this guy that was from New York that enlightened us to this fact. He had several other terms of which we have never heard of. While we where waiting for a operations map to load, we chatted it up with some random guys. We got their PSN ID’s and later on they joined PS3Blog.net as well. So welcome BLOODYICECREAM and tech to the PS3Blog.net family. Everyone gets 50 for showing up and Jcmdaddy gets another 50 for playing while sick. Let me know if I missed anyone: Ace, Oly, Jcmdaddy, BLOODYICECREAM, tech. There was one other but I’m not sure if he was a member here or not. If you are let me know. Ace gets another 75 for recording the game night for us. “

Killzone 3 Game Night Recap | 3.31.11

Well, alright! We had another successful Uncharted 2 game night this week! We had a total of 10 people over the course of the night, 9 from the site and 1 of my friends, who tagged along for a short while. Participants included Dean, Kennyg, Jason, Tosh, Sakinah, Ace, Geezus, Kane and myself. You all get 50 points for attending. Belmor had showed up, but seemed to have some connection issues. We started on time and ended up going for 3 hours total, with people slowly dropping over those hours, of course. However, it was all good and fun! Rockets returned in the beginning, and with 9 people this time around (our tenth didn’t show until after my friend left) it was even more hectic. Ace pointed out how he hated the silence during the matches, then there was the sudden whistle and follow up explosion out of nowhere! As people left, and we got low enough to search for matches; we dominated. We noticed how a lot of people seemed to drop midmatch, probably getting tired of being killed, am I right? However, the ‘dropping’ became an issue when there was only 4 of us, waiting for Tosh to return, and we joined a match with 2 others…I, UNFORTUNATELY, got stuck with the other guys in multiple matches. In the last 3v3 game, both my teammates d/c’d and I was stuck…vs Ace Geezus and Sakinah > _> that was…interesting. Honorable mentions: Dean, you ninja, you get a bonus 50 points again for always being so sneaky! Geezus, of course, dominated the scoreboard in the majority of the matches; you get an extra 50. Ace, your now-infamous “Oh my god” awards you a bonus 50. All in all, it was great playing Uncharted 2 again, and with even more people. We all agreed that the game never seemed to get old, and with friends, it’s always fun. I will be working with Ace to make a highlight video; he’s going to record it in HD, and I’m giving him the footage time stamps to record some of the most exciting moments. In the mean time, here are just a few screen captures from some of the games, and, hopefully, I will see most, if not all, of you guys for next week’s game night!

Game Night Recap – 3/24 edition

It’s almost that time again! Thursday is fast approaching and it seems that I’ll be hosting another game night! With the reception we got from last weeks, along with the people who were dissapointed that they missed it, I’ve decided to do another Uncharted 2 game night. Success! The Uncharted 2 Game Night was great! We had 6 total when we started, which allowed us to play private matches of 3v3. The group consisted of Ace, Dean, Luke, Flea, Geezus, and myself. Flea and Geezus I’ve forgotten what your ps3blog ID’s are, so please leave a comment so we can award you the 50 points for attending. We started off with a warm up round, so Luke could get his groove back, and then proceeded straight to some fun matches that consisted of only rockets! These matches were insanely chaotic, with rockets flying across the map and everyone killing eachother instantly. My surround sound system was alive with explosions and rockets whistling past me. Everyone had a good laugh. After we lost Luke, we jumped into some standard matches with the 5 of us to take on some random folks. These rounds were great and Geezus was always at the top of the scoreboard. I’ll have to toss him 75 extra points for his score. Eventually we tried some Elimination, which was a round I’d never actually played before. When the match started I’d forgotten what mode we were in and just rushed in after two people, by mistake. Elimination was great, and we won most of them, minus our 0-3 game against a well organized group. I’m going to have to give Dean an additional 75 points for being the ninja of the group. I swear that guy would get me from the most random places. I’d die and never really know where he was. Luke gets 75 bonus points for being a good sport in the warm up round….also for this voicemail I left him last night: I’ve included some screenshots after the jump to highlight some moments from the games, and I plan on working on a video this weekend with just the insane rocket kills we had! I can’t wait to have another Uncharted 2 game night! Drakes first experience getting smacked by a Chimera. Me chasing Luke down… Geezus with his no look jump shot with the rocket launcher. Luke just wouldn’t let go of that pillar! I had to assist him. Taking out the enemy with a little water explosion. Luke got a little confused on how he was supposed to move around on the map. It may seem like I’m jumping out of the way, but really Ace got me good… Yet another jump shot by Geezus. Easiest way to clean off the side of a building is with a well placed rocket! Ace caused this little explosion, out of nowhere. Ace’s glowing red eyes also double as targeting reticles!
