According to Kotaku , From Software (creators of Demon’s Souls) has confirmed that Dark Souls will be delayed, thankfully by a week, in Japan! The game was scheduled for release on September 15th in Japan and October 4th and 7th in North America and Europe respectively. The new release date is set for September 22nd in Japan, but there have been no comments on wither the other regions will experience the same delay or not. “From Software” hasn’t given any specific reasons behind the delay.

I should feel blessed to be close to such major events that happen in and around the video game industry. What most people don’t know is that the San Diego Comic-Con is a major hub for announcements and reveals. Most people think this is just a nerd convention where some overweight stereotype dresses up in a costume in the middle of the southern California summer. They are wrong my friends. Comic-Con has something for everyone. Video Game wise, Capcom announced Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, Naughty Dog and Sony brought the cast of Uncharted 3 to discuss the game, Batman: Arkham City was being promoted everywhere during the convention, and last but not the least, Hideo Kojima himself making his 3rd appearance to promote the upcoming HD re-release of his famous games. Frank Tieri signing Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 poster. Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 It started off innocently enough. I get a press release from Capcom with assets and videos on July 20th. I arrive at the convention that night to see that they had a couple of stations running the build with the just announced characters, Ghost Rider, Strider, Hawkeye, and that red dragon thing. All week they had tournaments running and giving away promo posters for the game. Ryota Niitsuma the producer of MvC3 was on hand a long with Frank Tieri signing posters. Uncharted 3 Nolan North, Emily Rose, and Richard McGonagle were on hand to discuss Uncharted 3. These panels are usually the best places where you can talk to them face to face and ask question. Nolan North has announced that he is working on a book called Drake’s Journal, which will be kind of a behind-the-scenes look of the making of Uncharted 3. They also showed a very funny clip of them doing this motion capture and sound capture, which made everyone laugh. The good folks at Sony also provided badge holders with these awesome one of a kind T-Shirts and voucher codes for those who were lucky enough to get them. Sony partnered with ESC toys to bring you these awesome vinyl figures . Here are a couple of the Uncharted swag I managed to get. Poster designed by Adam Hughes. If you don’t know who that is, well you better Google him because this guy is considered by many as one of the best cover artist of all time. The poster kinda reminds you of Indiana Jones. Metal Gear Solid Hideo Kojima, along with Yoji Shinkawa and Yumi Kikuchi, was on hand to greet fans and sign items during the event. The Konami booth featured some items from the Konami Store in Japan and to my dismay, I missed out on these awesome coffee mugs that had the famous red exclamation point printed on the bottom of the mug. They were selling them for $15. Sold out in a matter of hours. I did, however, manage win one of the prizes they were raffling to the attendees of the signing. I’ll let the picture speak for itself. Check out Konami’s official facebook page for more information about the signing. Kojima Answers my Question about Metal Gear Solid RISING. I also have a special treat to one of our readers, he asked me if I can ask Kojima about Metal Gear Solid RISING and Mr. Kojima did not disappoint. The moderator of the event asked the audience if we have any questions for Mr. Kojima and I yelled out WHEN IS METAL GEAR SOLID RISING COMING OUT!? and he answers me in this video..

According to a news report in Japan. A 19 year old unemployed Japanese man threatened to blow up a train station for reasons unknown. What is known however is that the man used his PlayStation 3 to write the message in Japanese bulletin board. Authorities traced the man’s IP address and they discovered that he used his PlayStation to write and send the message. The threat read “”Tomorrow, I will blow up Hiroshima Station.” The next day, he was arrested. Source: Nikkasports Japan

New Dark Souls Trailer Confirms October Release
Recap Yep, another late one. I’m still trying to find time to do things, but between dealing with back pain and stressing out over other things, the days seem to go by in a flash. I’ve been spending most of my time on here lately helping around the community and working with some of you on a few things to help better the site. Anyway, Tosh has updated my title somewhat. As you know, I’ve been officially labeled as the Community Manager for a little while now. As of this week, I also have the position of Editor-in-Chief. Though, keep in mind, some articles will go through with an occasional error here and there, but I will fix errors if I come across them. If you find one, and I missed it, let me know and I will fix it . Now, as for what went on from the 13th to the 19th, and what stories stuck out. We got a few more videos from Luke’s visit to PAX East this year, which all include gameplay. Despite not being able to record it, he also managed to check out Battlefield 3, which is sure to blow everyone’s mind. Darrin managed to go to SXSW, which happened during PAX, and didn’t let us know (so we didn’t have a live blog or anything), but he did write his own recap of the event. Eddie, once again, got a bunch of NGP articles compiled to keep us up to date on what is going on with our future favorite handheld (subjective, of course). As for Kevin Butler, he showed off his S.H.A.F.T. method for MLB 11: The Show, so for a good laugh, check those out. We also have reviews for MotorStorm Apocalypse and TNT racers by Trev and EdEN, respectively. Beyond that, Jason has been busy posting gaming deals and the like, which is a nice feature, but I will try to work with him to make them more pleasing to the eye, so bear with me! Be sure to read through the list of articles, both front page and QuickNews, as there is always more to read than what I talked about here. Also, don’t forget, you can donate to the Red Cross to help with the Japanese tsunami relief through PSN (the denominations are fixed, but it’s a worthy cause, and you get a free theme). Community News & Game Nights It’s been 6 years since we posted our first article. With that, we had a giveaway for a $20 PSN card (linked below). Not much in new features, but we did get a new chat system , which makes personal chats and private chat rooms possible. Definitely a nice upgrade. For the past few weeks, and upcoming weeks for that mater, the number of giveaways we’ve had/are having has picked up quite a bit. First of all, as I said on the last recap, winners of the SOCOM 4 beta have been announced. Since then, we’ve also had a Slam Bolt Scrappers giveaway , and even had that $20 PSN card giveaway for the blog’s 6 year anniversary. Luke has also acquired a number of t-shirts from PAX we will be using, including the Aperture Science t-shirts we’re giving away with Portal 2. It’s always a good idea to come by and see what we have going on for contests! Usually, you can spot those announcements in the green box in the sidebar. 22 Articles // 15 QuickNews Contributor of the Week Luke – 8 Entries QuickNews Contributor of the Week Jason – 8 Entries Most Liked Oly – Kevin Butler’s S.H.A.F.T. Today at 05:46:23 (UTC)/12:46 AM (EST), Japan was hit with a magnitude 8.9 earthquake, creating factories, among other infrastructures, to temporarily shut down. According to the Kyodo news agency, Sony, who happens to be one of Japan’s mammoth exporters, had to shut down six of their factories as the earthquake caused fires and power failure in the northeast coast of the country. This earthquake will most certainly cause a humongous economic impact on Japan because of its damage to the factories. On top of the earthquake, a tsunami came rolling in from the coasts of Japan, furthering the damage to the nation’s coastline. Reportedly, a 33 feet high tsunami hit the port of Sendai. The official death toll, so far, is more than 1,000 people, Japanese media outlets are reporting. Other companies who have been identified to shut down their operations because of these natural disasters were Honda, Hokuriku Electric Co., JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corp., Cosmo Oil Co. and more.
