New Modern Warfare 3 DLC is now available for Xbox Elite subscribers. The COD MW3 DLC will include two new multiplayer maps, Sanctuary and Foundation. Sanctuary takes place in Greece, and Foundation is based in South Korea. Elite Drop 7: Sanctuary Suspended in the air one thousand feet up, you’ll battle more than altitude in the towering sandstone monasteries of Central Greece. Formed over millions of years, this sanctuary’s natural rock pillars have repelled invading armies and withstood the ravages of time but now they’ll face your deployment. Test your skills-and the ancient monks’ craftsmanship-with your arsenal of SMG’s, assault rifles and shotguns. Just remember: don’t look down. Elite Drop 8: Foundation Journey into the heart of South Korea for a decommissioned concrete factory where the cement flows and bullets fly. After decades of constructing roads and buildings, the towering facility is now a perfectly-constructed combat zone for sniping and run-and-gun rules of engagement. Don’t stand in awe of the towering concrete crusher at the center of the factory unless you want to see your kill ratio meet the same fate.

Robert Bowling has given Modern Warfare 3 fans an update on PlayStation 3 and PC patch 1.08. The patch was first released for Xbox 360, and has been delayed for PS3 users as there were additional updates added. According to Bowling, Modern Warfare 3 patch for PlayStation 3 has “been in certification at Sony this past week and should be released by them soon.” He added, ”we don’t control how long certification takes, thats out of our hands.” When asked for an estimated time of arrival, Bowling answered, “no way to know for sure, as its out of our hands once it enters certification. However, its typically a 2 week process (1 week down).” The update should be available on PlayStation 3 next week. No information on a PC release date. “I don’t have a date yet, but I’ve been asking them to start getting PC updates out in line with others platforms.”

GameInformer spoke with Robert Bowling this week concerning Modern Warfare 3′s first DLC. Here’s a brief recap of what Bowling said. “What we’re doing this year is, we have an entire season of content starting January 24th and going through September. How this will work is every month, we’ll have content drops. These are the individual drops that are available first for Elite subscribers. They come out first for Elite subscribers, very first on Xbox Live, they start giving feedback on it, and that will help dictate our future design decisions.” In response to the price point for non-Elite subscribers and the availability, “I don’t have a price point on the collection, but the first collection that includes these drops comes out in March.” Bowling gives information on Liberation and Piazza. “Liberation is all about that different type of gameplay. It’s a more wide open map than what you see in the traditional maps in Modern Warfare 3.” “Piazza is very different, and it’s all about that close range, close quarters combat. A lot of tight corridors, but most importantly, it’s all about that verticality.”
