Many of us Europeans looked forward to a bloody good time on Valentine’s Day, and now, all of us will be disappointed. David Jaffe, the co-director and co-lead designer behind Twisted Metal, has recently made an announcement that the EU version’s release date will have to be pushed up to a date that he (at the time) was not even aware of, though he did speculate that it will be some time in March. The main reason for this delay is the stricter censorship laws in some of the EU countries, like for example Germany. These laws will force the team to cut some of it’s content, but as David Jaffe himself stated: 99% of the cuts were in the movies and the movies are still intact and I sat with the editor- who was the same editor of the American movies- and we went thru and addressed the notes from Europe and made sure the stories still worked. I, for one, can rest easier knowing that not much actual game-content has been cut, but I suppose we will have to wait and see how much exactly has been changed. You can read his entire statement here .

Twisted Metal EU Release Delayed
Netflix subscribers who have not made changes to their account before September 1st will see the billing prices change dramatically . Folks who paid 9.99 for one (1) at a time unlimited DVD and Streaming will see a 60% increase and now be billed 15.98. The reason for this is because Netflix has now split it’s Disk and Streaming services into two separate services. One of the things that many people find to be equally upsetting is that there is no discount for those who select both services. If you plan to make any changes to your subscription, remember to so before 12:00am September 1st. Me and another household in my family are switching to a DVD/BR only plan due the much larger movie selection and far superior picture quality.

Reminder: Netflix Plan Changes
For those of us who use Netflix, may it be the streaming-only service or the DVD/Blu-Ray with streaming service, the latter might be a little disappointed with this news. Netflix has opted to separate both DVD and Blu-Ray plans from the streaming plans. The streaming-only plan will remain $7.99 a month, but since the DVD plan included streaming, it was only $2 more a month for adding DVD onto the plan. Netflix says that didn’t make sense financially, and since DVD rentals are still huge with the service, they wanted it to make better business sense. This is why they divided the plans, and the DVD plan will now be the same price as the streaming plan, at $7.99. 2 discs out at a time will be $11.99. In comparison, the 1 Blu-Ray/DVD plan (that included streaming) was $12.99. At least with the new plan, Blu-Ray renting will be at $9.99, $2 more instead of $3 (and another $1 for each additional disc). Now, here is where the problem starts, though. Since this new plan separates streaming and disc services, subscribers will need to get the bundled service (which doesn’t offer any discounts) if they want both. Those of us currently on the1 DVD/Blu-Ray/Streaming plan pay $12.99 a month, plus tax. With the new subscription update, it will be the $7.99 streaming service, plus another $9.99 for the Blu-Ray/DVD, resulting in a $17.98 bill instead, which, quite frankly, is completely unfair from a consumerist standpoint. Here’s another kicker. The DVD-Only plans only allow up to 2 DVDs/Blu-Rays at a time, so if you currently have the 4 DVD plan, and you want to continue with 4 DVD rentals, you will be forced to get the 4 DVD with streaming, which will now cost you $29.98 a month, $34.98 with Blu-Ray. Same goes with the 3 DVD (albeit at a lower price). For new subscribers, these subscription changes are immediate, but for people who already subscribe to Netflix? We’re not safe, either. If you haven’t changed over before September 1st, you will wind up having to pay AT LEAST the $17.98 ($15.98 if you don’t rent Blu-Rays), depending on the number of discs you have for your current plan. Personally, I might just switch to the Streaming service, as I don’t really watch my disc-based movies as much as I should anyway, and I take forever to get around to them. But still, for those who use both aspects of the service? They’re getting the most mistreatment by this new pricing model. I still love Netflix, though. Source

Netflix Subscription Plan Update
What have we gotten ourselves into this time…in time? Head hurts, not-cool-cloud surrounds us and… are we locked up? Great, this is JUST what I needed to start my morning with that little extra “shock” to my system. Now, how exactly am I getting out of here before I go “poof” and it is all over? Mmm, guess there’s nothing left but for me to rock… and rock hard. Rock and Roll makes everything better. Oh, and it also makes it easier to escape from weird, scientific facilities run by extremely conservative older ladies with a “yes, God, how can I help you?” complex. Don’t worry, I’ve got this one for you. Just hold on tight and let’s make the jump! After our last slice of adventure heaven we realize that Marty has been locked up by Edna so she can make him part of the “Citizen Plus” program and, after seeing what I did to Biff and what it just did to Jeniffer we must QUICKLY make plans for a return visit to the outside world and leave our room on hold for the time being. While we’re trying to break out we should probably make sure Jeniffer gets out as well since she’s the only cool person left in the whole town. Citizen Brown should also be a top priority since without him we probably won’t ever have a real chance to recover OUR Doc Brown. There is uptight people. There is delusional individuals. There’s Crazy human beings… and then there is Edna. Ego’s gotten pretty big after ruining things for everyone for so long. Now she’s decided the best thing to do is to reprogram her husband so everything stays the same and her “perfect” society lives on without anything (or anyone) disturbing the balance. A little brainwashing in the morning is always great since it allows you to start your day with a clean mind! Once you escape Citizen Brown and Marty make a trip back in 1931 buuuuuuuuuuuuuut… they get there in october instead of on august as was the initial plan! Something is wrong with the time circuits in the DeLorean and the problem keeps getting worse and worse with every trip. This makes the possibility of engaging in another trip back to the “correct” date would be too risky of a gamble… and could end up in a very, very wrong scenario! Your objective this time is to make sure that Edna and and Young Doc stop dating each other and never marry as to not run the risk of the timeline from Ep. 3 is ever created. Young Master Brown can’t be easily convinced of how staying far, far away from Edna is for the greater good so… what are we to do? Oh, I know, let’s make EDNA think that Emmet is not the right man for her by making sure he has every deal-breaking flaw she has so kindly exposed to us just now! That should work just fine and we can get back to our own timeline and hope everything is fixed now. There’s no place like home. There’s no place like home. There’s no place like home. Did it work? Mmm, ok, something is off. Guess we’ve got more work to do! Talked to other fans of the series and to them the story for Episodes 3 and 4 didn’t “feel right” for some reason. I liked it since it explores an interesting idea (and timeline) that we hadn’t seen in the movies, but I think it is this very reason that made them feel that way since some would have liked the season to be all about re-living all of their favorite moments from the original trilogy. Four episodes have come and gone and now we must all wait for the conclusion to this latest chapter in the Back to the Future universe. Do us a favor and get a season pass for this ASAP so we can have a shot at a second one from Telltale Games in early 2012. Worked for Puzzle Agent. Back To The Future Episode 4 Review
A movie based on the game series “Just Cause” is currently being produced by L+E Pictures’ Adrian Askarieh and Eric Eisner, and the script is being written by Michael Ross. Adrian Askarieh is known for producing Hitman and is currently working on the upcoming Kane and Lynch movie. In an interview by Eidos, they stated that the movie will be an origin story detailing Rico’s transformation into Scorpio, and it may even be filmed in 3D. There are no details available on when it will start shooting or who will star in the movie. “ We are using all the strong elements from the games to create a great “origin story” for Rico and how he transforms into the Scorpion character… The action we are going for almost demands the 3D treatment “

Highlights It’s been a heck of a while since we last did one of these properly. With that said, I have decided to drop the HK and JP stores and focus mainly on the US and EU updates. I’ve also overhauled the appearance of the posts, including small banners similar to the Weekly Recap. This is no longer a cut and paste job like we used to do in the past. After all, the source we used to use changed their layout on both regions, with completely different looks and I wanted something more organized. Anyway, what are the highlights this week? Well, in the US, Mass Effect 2 is available for download. If you’ve never played the first one, if ME2 is anything like it, you’re in for a treat. I just wish I had a working PS3 at the moment . Modern Combat: Domination and Spare parts is available for download as well. If you like sales, the EU store has a bunch of them. The US has a couple as well, but not on the sale of the other one. If you’re into DLC, Mass Effect has a collection of that, which consists of the DLC not included in the game. Other than that, it’s just your standard fare of content, but I will say the EU’s Leviathan dynamic themes sound pretty neat… US Store Full Game Trial Mass Effect 2 – 12GB Free Games Hero of Sparta Discounts Scott Pilgrim vs the World – $5.00 Modern Combat – $5.99 Juiced 2 (PSP) – $10.00 R.U.S.E. – The Chimera Pack – $7.49 Other Exclusives Mega Man 10 Avatar Bundle – $1.99 Argyle Girls Theme – Free Hockey Theme – Free Sonic 4 Dynamic Theme – Free Permanent Price Drop Record of Agarest War – $29.99 Battlefield 1943 – $9.99 Sale TV Show King – $0.99 Metal Gear Solid PSP: Bundle – $24.99 Resident Evil: Director’s Cut – $4.99 Full Games Mass Effect 2 – $59.99 – 12GB Spare Parts – $9.99 – 884MB Modern Combat: Domination – $7.99 – 697MB Demos Spare Parts – 884MB Modern Combat: Domination – 697MB PSOne Classics Metal Slug X – $5.99 – 71MB Mega Man – $5.99 – 156MB LittleBigPlanet 2 Rare LBP2 T-Shirt – $4.99 ModNation Racers Unlock All Key – $2.99 Super Fan Mod – $0.99 “Are We There Yet?” Kart – $0.99 Super Fan Mod AND Kart – $1.75 Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood Animus Project Update 2.0 – Free Ruse The Chimera Pack – $9.99 DJ Hero 2 Trance Anthems Mix Pack – $7.99 Tron: Evolution Multiplayer Map Pack – $4.99 EA Sports Active 2 Nike Low Impact Starter Pack – $4.99 Mass Effect 2 Cerberus Pack – $14.99 N7 Complete Arsenal Bundle – $7.99 Aegis Pack – $1.99 Equalizer Pack – $1.99 Appearance Pack – $1.99 Firepower Pack – $1.99 Recon Operations Pack – $1.99 Terminus Pack – Free DanceDanceRevolution Greatest Hits – $4.49 Premium Pack – Free SuperNOVA Greatest Hits 1 – $4.49 SuperNOVA Greatest Hits 2 – $4.49 SuperNOVA2 Greatest Hits – $4.49 DDRMAX2 Greatest Hits – $4.49 KONAMIX Greatest Hits – $4.49 Def Jam Rapstar ($1.99 Each) “Luv U Better” – LL Cool J “Beamer, Benz, or Bentley” – Lloyd Banks “Papa Can You Hear Me” – N-Dubz “Plies” – Shawty “Robbin Cru” – Nitti Beatz Rock Band 3 Stone Sour Pack 01 – $5.49 (or $1.99 per song) “Made of Scars” “Say You’ll Haunt Me” “Through Glass” Rock Band Network – $1.99 Each “Arcaedion” – Children of Nova “Flightless Bird, American Mouth” – Iron & Wine “Nosophoros” – Evile “Song About An Angel” – Sunny Day Real Estate “Thank You, Pain” – The Agonist Medal of Honor – Multiplayer Strategies and Videos $6.99 Video Nail’d Music Trailer Back to the Future: The Game Behind the Scenes Part 1 Network Trailer Richochet HD Trailer Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood Animus Project Update 2.0 Trailer Auditorium HD Network Trailer LittleBigPlanet 2 Genre Vids – Adventure” Storyline Featurette” Music Sequencer Featurette” Genre Vids – Sports” “Endless Fun” Trailwr” Dead Nation Housemarque Launch Trailer ModNation Racers DLC Preview Trailer Music Super Stardust HD – Soundtrack Avatars Rival Schools Avatars (x4) – $0.49 Themes Sonic 4 Episode 1 (Dynamic) – $2.99 Dynamic Gun – $2.99 Vampire (Dynamic) – $2.99 Grand Canyon – $1.49 Hockey – $1.49 Tokyo Shrine – $1.49 Scenic Seagulls – $1.49 DP Celebration of Fire – $2.99 Wallpapers Beat Sketcher Wallpaper 1 Wallpaper 2 Wallpaper 3 Wallpaper 4 Explodemon! Yakuza 4 Release Dates Confirmed
Haven’t seen any of the movies this week or heard much about them honestly. Looks like they came out with Death Race 2 which is surprising since the first one was so bad. It was kind of like a real life twisted metal but not as cool. Anything interest you this week? Here are the Blu-ray titles for this week . Highlights are: Justified: The Complete First Season, Takers, Buried, Stone, Animal Kingdom, Death Race 2, The Naked Kiss (The Criterion Collection), Shock Corridor (The Criterion Collection), Paper Man, Freakonomics.

Blu-ray Releases for the Week of 1.19.11
Kennygk and myself are the only ones that showed up in the PlayStation Home Clubhouse. Here we are above striking a pose. We tested out the poker table and it was kind of boring so I removed it and put in a pool table instead. We can have 2 interactive items in the space. So what do you want other than the pool table? Choices are: another style of pool table, darts, flying UFO, poker table(meh). Game launching isn’t supported with LittleBigPlanet 2 but I did a game launch for it anyway. At least that way you can quit the game and come right back to the Clubhouse. It was obvious fairly quickly that the LittleBigPlanet servers are overloaded right now. Anyone that wasn’t a host was stuck at a loading screen for a long time. This wasn’t the case last week when I was playing it. So the whole night was spent just trying to connect to each other. I was playing a level and Oly joined in but he got stuck on a loading screen after a few minutes. We never got connected with Luke at all. Those that came to the game night still get points even though we didn’t all get to play together really. Kennygk receives 50 points for showing up in Clubhouse and another 50 for patiently waiting several minutes for the game to load. But to only play for a few minutes and be stuck on another loading screen in the middle of the level. Oly1Kenobi receives 50 points for actually getting into a game for a few minutes. Luke receives 50 points for attempting to play LBP2 with us Next Tuesday at the same time we will try this again, hopefully the servers are sorted out by then. Others are welcome to set up a game night before then.

Didn’t catch any of the movies released this week. But I’ve heard from a couple friends that Resident Evil: Afterlife was good. Anything interest you this week at all? Here are the Blu-ray titles for this week . Highlights are: Resident Evil: Afterlife, Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D, The American, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Part 3, Twelve, And Soon the Darkness, Kamui Gaiden: Movie, Derailed, Battlestar Galactica: Razor, Shinobi – Heart Under Blade.
