All the rumors are true. Media Molecule has released a statement via the Little Big Planet website confirming the worldwide delay of LBP2. We’ve all been working like powered-up space ninjas and we’re almost there, but because we love what we’ve made, and we love our little sack-friends, and most of all we love all our fans out there, we couldn’t let you all get together until we knew we were giving you the best experience imaginable. Which is why we’ve taken the hard decision to delay the worldwide release of LittleBigPlanet 2, originally slated for later this year to January 2011 .We know this will come as disappointing news for all you LittleBigPlanet fans, and believe us, we are disappointed too. Even though I was looking forwad to LBP 2 this year, I’m not too dissapointed by the news. It’s only an extra two months after all.

A direct feed video of 10 minutes of BioShock Infinite gameplay has surfaced online, check out that lush foliage, bright colours and xenophobia! The visuals vastly different from the dark, damp interiors of Rapture but it’s a welcome change considering they have still managed to keep the same creepy atmosphere. Other changes are a roller coaster-cum-grappling hook-method of getting around Columbia and CO-OP plasmids!? The main character Booker DeWitt also talks instead of staying silent which might irk some series fans but it appears work well. What do you guys think?

Uncharted 2 voice actor Emily Rose (Elena) recently revealed via her Twitter account that she’s back in LA and doing some form of work on Uncharted. EmilyroseLA: Landed in LALA land yesterday and already the schedule is a buzz…. filming my first Night show today 4 #HAVEN then work on #UNCHARTED! This lead many to the hope that Uncharted 3 is on the way, but Sony were quick to kill these rumours, and mention that’s it’s simply more DLC for the immensely popular Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. A Sony spokesperson told Kotaku: “Now that Emily is just back from filming Haven she will be working with Naughty Dog on some DLC content.” Although this news might not be as good as another Uncharted on the way, more work with the actors should only mean that we have more story-based DLC coming, be that single player or co-op, and this should keep fans happy while they wait for the next classic from Naughty Dog.

Quick to act against the PS Jailbreak, Sony has made steps to make sure that it doesn’t get out of hand. It’s not a new firmware update, though. For now, they’re targetting the modchips that make the hack possible. As of Aug 27, 2010, they’ve managed to secure a temporary injuction from Australia’s Federal Court, blocking the sale and importation of the new PS3 modchips. With this temporary injunction, Sony will have until August 31st to convince the courts that modchips should be made illegal. Until then, distributors are prohibited from selling them. If they’re successful, then a permanent ban on the devices will be enacted. If not, modchips go back in business by September 1st. In 2005, however, an Australian court ruling made the sale of modchips legal in Australia. That’s not exactly iron-clad, seeing as Nintendo managed to outlaw R4s to protect the DS from piracy. I’ll keep you guys posted on what happens next. [via Kotaku ]

Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Kaz Hirai is ruling out a download-only future for the next-generation PlayStation consoles. Speaking in an interview with MCV, Hirai said Sony’s business will always require a physical discs in one way or another, despite being the first one to release the download-only PSP Go. “We do business in parts of the world where network infrastructure isn’t as robust as one would hope. There’s always going to be requirement for a business of our size and scope to have a physical medium.” This doesn’t mean that Sony will support physical discs all the way, well according to Hirai, it’s not happening anytime soon. “To think everything will be downloaded in two years, three years or even ten years from now is taking it a little bit to the extreme.” Via [ MCV ]

Darrelle Revis and the New York Jets have agreed to a new deal that will be announced on Wednesday. Considering that Revis is regarded as one of the top five defensive players in the NFL, this is huge news for the Jets and their fans. The source of this news is Tim Cowlishaw’s Twitter . The Jets were a great defensive team last year, with a lot of the credit going to Revis. He’s a cover corner who can lock up the opponent’s best wide receiver with minimal help. That ability allowed the Jets to send a lot of pressure at the quarterback and send double-teams to the other side of the field. While there are no details of Revis’s deal, expect him to become one of the highest paid defensive players in the league. Speaking of the Jets, Nick Mangold and the team are also getting close to a long-term extension. The All-Pro center will reportedly become the highest paid center in the NFL.
