Gamespot Best of 2010 | Game of the Year
Neil Patrick Harris hosted the 2010 Video Game Awards last night on Spike TV. The show was exciting, for me anyway, mainly because of the many game trailers they premiered at the show. I was however surprised and disappointed by a few of the winners. Game of the Year, went to the much deserved Red Dead Redemption, beating out the most nominated game Mass Effect 2, Halo: Reach, God of War III, and Call of Duty: Black Ops . Red Dead Redemption itself had nine nominations, including Best PS3 Game, Best Action Adventure Game, Best Graphics and Best Original Score. A new category this year was the Character of the Year, with the win going to Sgt. Frank Woods of Call of Duty: Black Ops. How he beat out John Marston, from Red Dead Redemption is beyond me. He even beat out Kratos! Best PS3 Game went to God of War III, which also won for Best Graphics. The other nominees for Best PS3 Game were Heavy Rain, ModNation Racers, and Red Dead Redemption, the only non-exclusive in the list. What do you think? Were your picks chosen? The full list of nominations and winners can be found after the jump. 2010 Spike Video Game Award Nominees & * Winners Game of the Year * Red Dead Redemption (Rockstar Games/Rockstar San Diego) Call of Duty: Black Ops (Activision/Treyarch) God of War III (Sony Computer Entertainment/SCE Studios Santa Monica) Halo: Reach (Microsoft/Bungie Studios) Mass Effect 2 (Electronic Arts/BioWare) Studio of the Year * BioWare Blizzard Entertainment Bungie Studios Rockstar San Diego Character of the Year * Sgt. Here is the official launch trailer for Undead Nightmare that is coming tomorrow on the PSN. This is by far the best looking DLC to date. This trailer also shows the four horses of the Apocalypse, as well as a new mythical creature, so if you don’t want that spoiled, don’t watch. Don’t forget, for PS+ members, 20% off all the Red Dead Redemption DLC, including Undead Nightmare, also starts tomorrow.

Yet Another RDR: Undead Nightmare Trailer With Ways to Kill Zombies and 5 New Trophies Revealed
Lately, our game nights have been pretty impromptu, with Sinlock and Demerson’s attempts being the most organized of the bunch. I’m here hoping to get interest in Game Nights, but I need help from you guys. Before I get into that, though, our first one will take place tomorrow night at around 5:30PM Pacific time . The game of choice is Red Dead Redemption (as chosen by a couple folks on our facebook page ). If you’re interested in joining, let me know here, along with your PSN ID ; add me on PSN as well. My ID is JimmyMagnum . We’ll be doing hideouts, hunting and co-op! Not sure if it will be affected, but I do have the Liars and Cheats pack for more hideouts, etc, so you might need that. I know Sinlock will be doing Game Nights for RDR again when the Undead Nightmare releases as well. Now, as to why I need help. We’re aiming to have multiple game nights set up a week, with different games on different nights/days, etc. This will be determined on availability and the games someone owns. Since not many of us will be owning every multiplayer game that comes out, I want to get people to manage game nights for specific games, etc. If you’re interested, let me know! Preferably, I want at least 2 people per game/night that can help run it, so if you want to help us and own the games folks want to play, let us know! The two-per-game is mostly for if one person can’t make it, another can step in. I will see about compensation (read: points) for helping to run these (I will talk to Tosh about that one). More information after the jump! As far as players go, I will try to get points to top players as well. The guys who help run the game nights will have to PM me a winners list or something. Point rewards will be determined in the near future. We have plans and the like for tournaments and everything as well. After we get this RDR game night tomorrow, we’re going to try to do a Battlefield: Bad Company 2 night sometime soon as well, and then work on expanding the list to games like Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, Uncharted 2, MGO, Killzone, LBP (though that’s limited to 4) etc. If you want to see a game featured, let us know and we’ll try to get a game night going for it! One of the ones I’m most excited about will be our Race Days and Race Nights on Gran Turismo 5. I will be heading this one for sure. Each race will be featuring a different class, specific eras, etc. I also plan on having tournaments and endurance races every once in a while as well. Not sure what day or time, but it will happen! Tournament and endurance racers who managed a 1st-3rd place will likely get awarded more points than usual, but will also be based on place. Hopefully we get a lot of interest in this! It will be a great way to earn points and the like as well! If this initiative picks up, we’ll have a drawn out schedule folks can check out to see when and what we’ll be playing!

If the trailer yesterday left you wanting to see more, then you’ve come to the right post. Here are a few screens showing the zombie cougars and a bear from the upcoming Undead Nighmare DLC for Red Dead redemption. It looks like fire might be a weapon of choice for these creatures.

This eagerly anticipated DLC for Red Dead Redemption is “Coming Very Soon” and besides just Zombies, promises to have some Mythical Creatures, probably along the lines of Big Foot, or the elusive Chupacabra.

Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare Debut Trailer
If you already haven’t had a zombie overload by playing Dead Rising 2 or the COD: Black Ops website being invaded by those well loved corpses, then I guess it won’t hurt much to tell you that another massive PS3 title is getting the ‘undead’ treatment. Rockstar Games, the infamous studio behind the massive hit Red Dead Redemption (and of course the GTA series) has released screenshots for their newest DLC pack, Undead Nightmare. If you thought Rockstar just couldn’t make the game any better – YOU WERE WRONG! The new DLC pack boasts a “single-player campaign that follows John Marston as he tries to find a cure for the highly infectious zombie plague that has spread across the frontier. In addition to this epic new single-player adventure, The Undead Nightmare Pack also features brand new gameplay mechanics, weapons, zombie animals, mythical creatures and even a brand new secret location. All this, plus some exciting new multiplayer modes and much more to be revealed very soon. The Undead Nightmare Pack will be available simultaneously for download via PlayStation®Network for $9.99.” See the Undead Nightmare DLC screenshots at Rockstar Games’ website.
