Rage was originally announced in 2007, but will finally be launched on Sept. 13th in North America, and Sept. 16th in Europe of this year. This game that has aspects of both Fallout and Borderlands, looks very good. Rage is a first person shooter, with RPG elements, as well as dune buggy driving / combat. The game is set in an asteroid/earth collision, caused post-apocalyptic wasteland. The asteroid, Apophis, a real life astroid, which will pass near Earth in 2036, collides with earth in 2037, and destroys 30% of all life almost instantly. As seen in the other, similar set games, bandits and mutants will be the main enemies of the game. The player has been “saved” by being cryogenically sealed in an underground “Ark”, and awakens with no memory of who or where he is. (Starting to sound even more familiar?) The official web site for Rage , which was just given a major face-lift today, describes it this way: August 23, 2037: Apophis 99942 strikes the eastern hemisphere. Carrying the force of 2.4 million megatons, 30% of life on Earth becomes extinct in 26 seconds. Within one year 80% of all life is gone. To make matters worse, Apophis contained large amounts of heavy elements. Darkness blankets the planet. The Earth falls into an impact winter lasting almost 50 years and life on the surface is driven to the brink. Prior to impact, in an effort to save human civilization, Arks are constructed and buried deep underground. These cryogenic lifeboats carry humanity’s future, preserved with the tools they need to rebuild. They are the seeds of Earth’s rebirth. But when survivors begin to emerge from the Arks, they find the unexpected. Many humans who were above ground during the impact unexpectedly survived, while horrific mutants roam the dead cities. And a mysterious tyrannical government, bent on creating a new world order, has begun the search . . . for you. This is definately a game I am going to keep my eyes on. I will keep you posted of any new information, so make sure you check back often!

New Rage Trailer and Screen Shots
According to nextgn.com , Guerilla Games have given hints as to what their next game will be about via their job listings. What we do know is that it is aiming for a AAA first-person shooter but with a twist. Perhaps we are reading to deeply into the job descriptions, but they all seem to be following a common theme. Phrases such as: “Looking for a Dumbledore amongst FX Artists” “sage-like leaders” “FX wizards” “Like a modern day Daedalus” “monsters and ensnare the heroes” “heroic concept artists spoken of in legend” “little like a god” Could it be that Guerrilla Games is making a fantasy FPS perhaps with RPG elements?

Kingdom Under Fire II was already confirmed for PC and X360, and is now coming to the PS3. Developer Blueside decided to include the PS3 platform because of its power and its network features. Kingdom Under Fire II is the sequel to “The Crusaders”, which first appeared for Xbox, and will switch from RPG to MMOARTS (Massively Multiplayer Online Action Real Time Strategy). The PS3 version will receive exclusive content, ranging from characters to missions, and will also bring some unannounced PSN features. Via psonly.nl

According to the email I got with the code for the Killzone 3 Beta. The last day to play it was last night at least for the US. First match we severally outnumbered the other team and to top it off we took all 4 mechs and pinned them in there base. Yes we are mean. Jay joined us for the first time, but he didn’t stay for to long. Everyone gets 50 points for joining us plus awards. 50 Points – xDeFcoN_2FasT4Ux gets the award “Bringer of Life” for reviving teammates. 50 Points – Jay gets the award for “Mech Hog” for staying in a mech for the whole time pretty much. So will you be picking Killzone 3 up? This Beta completely sold me on the game, I loved Killzone 2 and this is great sequel!

Seems like Blizzard wants to once again bring their games to a console near you. When the game was first announced back in 2008 the only systems we knew it was coming out for was the PC and the Mac. Talk quickly started flying about a console version, but up until now there was nothing solid. Now that a job posting appeared on the company’s website stating their are seeking a “Lead Designer, Console” to work on Diablo III everything got a little bit more interesting. This is the latest trailer that came out of Blizzcon 2010 introducing a new character called “Demon Hunter”. Blizzard has issued a statement explaining the posting to its fans, stating: We’re exploring a Diablo-related concept for consoles and are currently looking to fill a few senior console-related positions on the Diablo III team. As we’ve said in the past, with proper care the gameplay could suit the console platform, and we’re interested in seeing what talent out there might be interested in such a project. If you’re passionate about all things Diablo and have the requisite skill and experience, then head over to our jobs site to check out the positions and apply. “Please note that this is not an announcement of a console title. We are first and foremost developing Diablo III for Windows and Mac PCs and don’t intend to allow any possibility of a console interpretation to delay or affect the release of the game. Diablo III Console Bound?
Atus has decided to port over Knights in the Knightmare from the DS to the PSP. I actually just finished the DS version a couple of weeks ago and the best way to describe it is, as they say over at Playstation.Blog, that you’ll get to play a bulllet hell infused RPG. Hopefully there’s a demo soon. Those that pre-order the game will also get a code to download Yggra Union, a port of a Gameboy Advance game by the same team.
