Wii Motion Plus and Playstation Move compared at IGN

After the review of Sports Champions was finished, IGN decided to compare WM+ and Move by analyzing their flagship titles (Wii Sports Resorts and Sports Champions) since they have some overlapping activities to see what each of the PS and Nintendo Editors of the site had to say about these two pieces of technology.

Trophies Confirmed For Ico/SotC, Move and 3D Under Consideration

It shouldn’t be too much of a surprise but just like the God of War and Sly Cooper collections, the Ico and Shadow of the Colossus collection will be getting Trophy support. During an interview with Dengeki Online director Fumito Ueda also didn’t rule out the possibility of 3D and Move for the games. Source

Supermarket Giant Starts Move Price War

Supermarket giants Tesco have started what we normally refer to as a price war. With PlayStation Move launching tomorrow (17th Sept 2010) in the UK, Tesco Direct have set the price of their Starter Pack at an amazing £39.70. Why they couldn’t simply choose to round the total off to £39.99 - I can’t explain, but the price is something which will make many a PlayStation Mover’s mouth water. If you’ve not yet bought your starter pack, then head over to Tesco Direct’s website now (link below) and grab yourself a bargain! Tesco Direct – PlayStation Move Starter Pack Even though Play.com aren’t considered to be a supermarket, they are (along with Amazon) offering the Navigation Controller for a nice £17.99 (links below) Play.com – PlayStation Move Navigation Controller Amazon.co.uk – PlayStation Move Navigation Controller P.s. The UK Move Starter Pack does not come with Sports Champions as illustrated in the image above.

Episode #4 of Sordohan’s Journey (from Two Worlds II)

South Peak Games brings us another hilarious episode of Sordohan’s Journey. Sordohan is from their upcoming game Two Worlds II . Aubrey Norris, the PR manager for South Peak Games describes it best here. Hello my good people! Listen – that Sordohan from Two Worlds II? He’s got a rough life. He’s got anger issues, a psychiatrist that’s just a bit too interested in his mom, an overbearing boss, and nobody can seem to pronounce his goddamn name right. Somewhere in a parallel universe, Sordohan is frolicking through a field of daisies and toiling peasants, his tongue flapping the wind, killing indiscriminately to his heart’s content. But not in *this* universe, friends. In *this* universe, we at SouthPeak have got him – *by the balls*. But, unfortunately, as part of our contractual obligations to Sordohan, we were required to publicly release the *secret hidden videotapes* of our negotiations with him in pre-production for Two Worlds II so that the world can witness our unjust and inhumane treatment, ridiculous demands, and the blatant theft of his girlfriend. Well, Sordohan? ARE YOU HAPPY? I hope you feel compensated for “pain and suffering” now, whiny baddie sidekick bitch. She also describes me best by saying, “Oly is an excellent name filled with win. ” They also released a Gandohar Calling ringtone for our amusement.. it is here http://sopk.us/9y7AH9 If you haven’t seen the other’s they are after the jump!!

Sports Champions: Disc Golf

Jeremy Ray, the producer on Sports Champions has blessed us with another video today. Today he gives us Disc Golf. I didn’t really care for this game that much, but it looks pretty fun, especially if you are playing against friends. Tomorrow we are going to get Table Tennis, not sure if I am going to be watching it since I will be busy playing it.

The Weekly Recap (August 29th-September 4th)

This Week One small change this week. I dropped the Poll tab. It wasn’t necessary anymore. You can check out the poll results on the post I made last night. Other than that? It was a pretty busy week, and we almost managed to surpass 40 articles. A lot of that had to do with PAX West happening over the past few days (honestly, who would have thought Duke Nukem Forever would ever come into fruition, let alone, be in playable form?). Anyway, here’s a quick rundown of last weeks news, outside of that. mairondil has submitted a bunch of articles, one getting a huge number of likes. We have quite a few pieces of commentary to check out, too. Hideo Kojima, the guy behind the Metal Gear Solid series, has had a hand in the development of the new Castlevania game. Some highly details screenshots of Arkham City have been released. Killzone 3 was shown with Move controls, and I think they look to work great (save for the auto-aim, which is obviously there only for demonstration purposes). InFamous 2 is also rumored to have Move support, so we’ll see what happens there. OddWorld: Stranger’s Wrath is said to be heading to PS3 next Easter. A few other games have also had their release dates announced. Thanks to PAX, there is also a big selection of videos to check out, including some new trailers and the like. Community News A few new things are happening. One, you can now subscribe to groups through email , with a bunch of options on how you want to subscribe. Finding the feature was a Live Chat contest that went on for a couple days, and I won, so I got some points for it . Other than that, we had some point system abusers that were taken care of last night. And with that, I am also able to deal with them myself, so if you see anything fishy, have a problem with another member, etc, you can talk to both Tosh and I. Alright, we had a few things happen this week. First of all, we had a caption contest to get 500 points to help people build them up for the Move giveaway, and the winner was announced today . We have also reached 700 fans , and with that, the prizes were revealed for the Move contest. Given how fast that happened, Toh promised a second Move controller if we reach 1500 total fans. PlayStation Move Sports Champions Table Tennis vs. Wii Sports Resort Table Tennis

I put together a video of game play from PlayStation’s Sports Champions Table Tennis and Wii Sports Resort Table Tennis in a side by side comparison. I played a game as normally as possible. I played a game simply waggling either controller back and forth and I played a game frantically wailing either controller back and forth. What did I find? On the PlayStation version, if I hold the controller at a medium level and stand in the middle of the table, I can hit the ball a decent amount of times when simply waggling back and forth. On the Wii version, when simply waggling back and forth, I just about always hit the ball, I just didn’t have much control over the ball. It is possible to play the Wii while waving the Wiimote above your head like a cowboy. It is not possible to play the PlayStation while waving the Move above above your head like a cowboy. The Wii is fun to play. The PlayStation is too.

Alice: Madness Returns

American McGee’s Alice franchise is finally returning! EA plans to release the sequel sometime in 2011, eleven years after the debut of the first title. The original game, built on id Software’s Quake III Arena engine, was available only on the PC, but the new game is slated for the PC, PS3, and 360. The first Alice was a gleefully macabre first-person shooter, featuring crazily Escheresque level design and delightfully Freudian encounters with abjection. For years there was talk of a filmic version in the works, which was being heavily promoted by Sarah Michelle Gellar. Sadly that never panned out. But I’m thrilled that we’ll see a video game sequel. I’m also happy that McGee has forgiven Sony for canceling the PS2 port of the original game, a move that McGee blames for causing his software production company, Rogue Entertainment, to fold.
