Square-Enix has released a trailer and an update to the release dates of Mindjack. This game launches in North America on January 18, in Europe on January 21, and in Japan on January 27, 2011. Mindjack is a third-person shooter which takes place in 2031. The plot revolves around a rogue team of agents and a new technology to control the mind. This allows the player to “hack” into and control enemies, vehicles, or civilians (It reminds me a bit of The Matrix where the Agents jump from person to person while in pursuit of Neo). The game is developed by Feelplus and is coming to PS3 and Xbox360. Via QJ.net

Have you been itching to find out whether the The final mix for Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep is going to include new maps, new bosses and new commands for the game? Well heck yeah they are and Square Enix is going to go all out for this mix. Hopefully we’ll see this stateside and in downloadable version. It’s what kept me away from the purchase.

For all you spiky haired fans
If this is anything close to what the final product will resemble, many FF fans are in for a huge treat. I’ll be honest that I was far from floored with FFXIII and my bleak outlook on SE games this gen is continuing to grow. Square…win back this long time FF fan and deliver this game as it seems you are! Edit: Footage was taken down from youtube however you can download it here Edit 2: Replaced Youtube video. I doubt it will be there for too long Edit 3: Final Edit Here is a gif that pretty much shows the whole video other then fighting against a King Behemoth

Looks like the summer is starting to heat up. The PSN has had some great things come its way in the last few weeks and things don’t seem to be slowing down. This coming Tuesday, July 20th the PSN is going to be invaded by everyone’s favorite dynamic dual…no not Batman and Robin and maybe not everyone’s favorite. I’m talking about the other favorite dual, Kane & Lynch. Now I can see a nuke going off about this so brace yourselves but this is also available exclusively to PSN+ members for a week before the rest of the PSN users get their hands on it come July 27th. Another great thing about this is that this demo will also be the first to kick of the new “Automatic Download” feature that came with the PSN+ membership. So for those of you who are currently PSN+ members make sure the following option is enabled: Any of you that still might have some concerns about this please read the below: •You must be an active PlayStation Plus subscriber to enjoy the convenience of automatic downloads (which also delivers firmware updates and game patches). •If you turn on the Automatic Download feature before Monday, July 19, expect to have the Kane & Lynch demo pushed to your system July 20th or 21st. during the timeframe you designate in your settings. •If you turn on the feature between July 20 – 27, you can expect to have the demo pushed to your system within 24 hours, during the timeframe you designate in your setting. •You’ll get the demo more quickly if your PS3 is not turned on during the timeframe you designate to check for updates, because the auto download feature of PlayStation Plus looks for content while your PS3 system is turned off. •The demo will also be published to the PlayStation Plus section of PlayStation Store during our weekly store publish on Tuesday 7/20. Again, this will be available only for PlayStation Plus members.

FFXIV Release date/subscription fees Square Enix has announced the released date for their upcoming mmorpg Final Fantasy XIV. First the bad news for PS3 fans: FFXIV won’t be hitting the PS3 before March 2011. This is a bit dissappointing after Square Enix had stated in the past how their plans were for a simultaneous release of both the PS3 and PC versions. But it looks like that wasn’t meant to be. On to the good news: The PC version FFXIV will be releasing this September 30th, worldwide, with a Collector’s Edition planned that’ll hit European retailers on September 22nd. No news if the CE is just EU only. Gamers can expect to pay a monthly subscription fee of $12.99/£8.99/€12.99, and an extra $3.00/£2.10/€3.00 per month for any additional characters. This is similar to how things worked in FFXI but in that game the extra characters were only priced at $1. Also unlike FFXI there will be a maximum of eight characters allowed on one account. Details on pricing for the PS3 version will be revealed later. PC Requirements Operating System: Windows XP SP3 Windows Vista 32-bit / 64-bit SP2 Windows 7 32-bit / 64-bit CPU Intel Core2 Duo (2.0GHz) AMD Athlon X2 (2.0GHz) RAM Windows XP: 1.5GB or higher Windows Vista / Windows 7: 2GB or higher HDD/SSD Space Installation: 15GB or more Download: Space on the hard drive where ‘My Documents’ is located should be 6GB or more Graphics Card 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 9600 series or higher 512MB ATI Radeon HD 2900 series or higher Sound Card DirectSound compatible sound card (DirectX 9.0c or higher) Internet Connection Broadband Internet connection or higher Screen Resolution 1280 x 720 or higher; 32-bit or higher DirectX DirectX 9.0c Others Mouse, Keyboard, Gamepad Collector’s Edition Details Adventurers Branded Tumbler: Carry a small piece of Eorzea around with you with this branded tumbler Behind-the-Scenes DVD: Get an insider look at the making of FFXIV with exclusive video content, interviews and more in this special documentary DVD Early access: Play a few days prior to the release of the PC Standard Edition Free Gameplay: 30-day free gameplay Game Disc Game Manual Guest Pass: Invite a friend to play free for a limited time Map of Eorzea: A detailed map showing the key areas of Eorzea, essential for the committed traveller Security Token: A FFXIV branded Security Token used in addition to your regular password Travel Journal: Record your travels in this journal filled with pages of never-before-seen concept art

Final Fantasy XIV Dated
First off, I think this is a great use of the Move for a PSN game like this. For those who played the original echochrome, you know that it’s a very cool puzzle game, even without the fancy graphics and colors. This takes the classic perspective gaming to another dimension with the ‘flashlight’ mechanic, adds more lively music and a few bold colors. And the ability to make your own puzzles is awesome as well. It should come out later this year.

From the new Dengeki/Famitus, we have gotten some new screen shots and info on FFXIII Versus. It is confirmed to be shown at TGS this year so I can’t wait! – All the screenshots in the interview are captured from the game running in real time. – The movement of the clouds in the game are controlled by the physics engine in the game. – The game employs an open field concept, so you can travel anywhere except into mountains. – The encounter system is a mix of random and visible encounters? – Battles are seamless. The only loading in the game will occur when moving between very large areas. They’re aiming for the ultimate in seamlessness. – Objects along the paths of roads can be destroyed. – Most people will not believe their eyes when they see the high quality of the battles in motion. – The staff are highly motivated now. – There will still be improvements and more polish on the visuals made, the visuals in the screens are the game running at the moment. – You’ll be able to use a car as promised. You can exit it and move on foot at any time as well. – Enemies will be visible on the field, and while some enemies are wandering around, others will suddenly appear and surprise you. (This clarifies what the random and visible comment meant, and it also confirms that game will be similar to FFXII in that sense.) – Nomura says they’re planning for a big unveiling of Versus at some point, but he doesn’t really give any deadline for it. – There will be some announcements at TGS of titles which have not been revealed at all yet.

Despite several trailers of Final Fantasy Versus XIII stating the game would release exclusively for the PS3, Square Enix’s CEO Yoichi Wada wants to clear the air: Final Fantasy Versus XIII may not remain a PS3 exclusive. Speaking after an investors meeting in Tokyo the question was raised if Final Fantasy Versus XIII would be better served as a multiplatform title. Wada replied “We’ll be looking into it internally until right before the formal announcement.”I’m guessing that there’s no better time to make a “formal announcement” then at E3. The last news we heard about the development status of FFvXIII was when Nomura announced that they had airships flying over the world map in the game. It’ll be interesting to see how a 360 port may affect the current development and release schedule for the PS3 version. Source

Final Fantasy Versus XIII No Longer PS3 Only
March was a big month for PS3 software. A total of 7 PS3 titles made it to the top 20 list in the month with sales ranging from 1m to 100k. However there were 3 other titles released for the PS3 during the month of March that didn’t perform as well. Remember Yakuza 3, Resonance of Fate and Just Cause 2? Neither of these games managed to meet or pass the 100k needed to break the top 20. After finally deciding to localise Yakuza 3, Sega shoots themselves in the foot by releasing the title in the same month as GOW III and FFXIII. Unfortunately Sega’s other project, Resonance of Fate, suffered the same fate as Yakuza 3. Neither title received any advertising as they were lost in the shadow of other juggernauts released in March. Unlike Yakuza 3 and RoF, Square Enix’s Just Cause 2 did receive a bit more advertising attention. A demo of the game was released on PSN and Live. Just Cause 2 and Resonance of Fate were both multi platform titles but neither could manage 100k sells. I doubt Square Enix is bothered by Just Cause 2’s initial sales since Final Fantasy XIII performed as expected. Sega on the other hand. Why they chose such a cluttered month to release 2 of their biggest games is beyond me.
