EyePet & Friends Will Have Two Pets to Play With

When the first Eye Pet was announced, my daughters were extremely excited. After being delayed over and over, it was finally released as a PS Move compatible game, and filled my home with enjoyment. The major issue at the time seemed to be that my two youngest daughters had to take turns. Well now, with todays announcement of Eye Pet and Friends, it seems like that will no longer be an issue. In Eye Pet and Friends there will now be the availability of two pets, either both controlled by one player, or each controlled by a separate player. The game is currently scheduled to be released “later this year.” We’ve socialized the game, now with two players, two PlayStation Move controllers, two Pets and augmented reality. Raise two on your own or together with a friend, let them hatch together or see if you can handle just one of the mischievous fur balls first – the choice is yours, but don’t forget that two EyePets born together may form a stronger bond with each other. PlayStation Move Heroes: Dev Diary

Mark Cooke // Lead Systems Designer, Nihilistic Software stopped by the Sony Blog to share a new developer diary on the upcoming PlayStation Move Heroes. My son is excited for this and I must admit I am eager to give it a whirl, or whip. We’ve blended some of the familiar weapons, abilities, and character movements from the original games with a fresh new set of motion-controlled mechanics that you’ll only be able to find on the PlayStation Move. For example, one of our favorites in the buzzsaw disc, a new weapon that the heroes fling into space to collect crystals, powers-up and more. But it’s up to the player to steer and navigate the disc while in flight. It’s a joy to fly with the extreme 1:1 precision of the motion controller. And if you can’t wait until March 22 to get your hands on PlayStation Move Heroes, be sure to keep your eyes out for a single player demo early next month in the PlayStation Store. PlayStation Plus members will have access starting March 1. Source: PSBlog

“1979″, A Game about the Iranian Revolution, May Be the Most Intriguing Game Idea of 2011

1979: The Game I can see my least favorite television host, Glenn Beck, dedicating 60 minutes just about this game. About how it’s “Islamic propaganda to help the caliphate overthrow America with Obama’s/Pelosi’s/Reid’s help and turn our children into Satanic gays!” In all seriousness, 1979 is nothing except an idea. And a logo. Evidently, the gameplay will consist of a “combination of sandbox and strategy elements”. Regardless on where you stand on American foreign policy, particularly toward Iran, the title certainly sounds intriguing. In an interview with Joystiq, creator Navid Khonsari said 1979 will take on the Iranian Revolution “from various perspectives”. So, I assume it will include various campaigns with Americans/Other Western Military, Iranian revolutionaries and/or Iranian loyalists. The siege and hostage-taking in the US Embassy in Tehran will be a central part of the game, with three distinct ways to get into Iran to free the hostages at the embassy. Khonsari aims for a console release, although 1979 is hardly more of a concept at this point. He said that 1979 will “include three distinct sandbox environments.” Multiplayer will also be a part of the game, but the single player (which is just rumors right now) already sounds immensely intriguing. Khonsari is taking inspiration from Grand Theft Auto III , Bully , and Alan Wake – two games I know are awesome and one I believe is. He also aspires to self-publish the game (which is semi-expected, as it’s hard to see Activision or EA wanting anything to do with a title that could be incredibly controversial.) Thoughts on 1979 ? Is this just a GTA clone with an interesting plot? Or a classic game that will be a must-buy on it’s release date? Via Joystiq

Sony’s Sharp Shooter, a closer look

Richard Ho the Associate Product Marketing Manager stopped by the Sony Blog and shared an in depth look at the upcoming Sharp Shooter for the PlayStation Move. Taking advantage of the PlayStation Move is an understatement. This thing is looking like a game changer. Seeming as there’s no classic Call of Duty auto aim in Killzone 3 or Socom 4 this is going to help those who have become accustomed to assisted aim. I’m most looking forward to using this with Time Crisis as the already released Sony Move Gun attachment is not the easiest set-up to play with. Having the Move button next to the trigger will also make RE5 playable! The Sharp Shooter retails for $39.99 and will be released Feb 22nd along with Killzone 3 making it the must have peripheral. LittleBigPlanet 2: LittleBigPrius Contest and Level Coming soon

Toyota and PS have teamed together to bring us a free LBP2 level called “LittleBigPrius.” It will be available in “early February” through the PSN to kick off an upcoming “create your own level” contest. The prizes for this contest include PS Move bundles and a 46” Sony Bravia 3D HDTV. All the details are below. “LittleBigPrius” consists of a traditional platforming section (with puzzles, of course!) followed by a top-down driving portion made possible by LBP2’s new tools. Along the way, you’ll be able to collect a number of items which you can then use to create your own levels. That’s where the contest comes in! We want you to use these collected items, and anything else your clever little minds can come up with, to create your own Prius-inspired LBP2 level. Be sure to name your level “Prius_[Your Level Name Here]” so that it can be easily located (and, no, we don’t want you to actually use the words “Your Level Name Here” unless that’s the best you can come up with… in which case, a contest based upon creativity is probably not for you). When the contest officially begins, publish your level online so that members of the LBP community will have a chance to play and comment upon it. Most importantly, they’ll be able to “heart” it if they really like it. When the contest ends, the ten highest-ranked levels, as chosen by the community, will be selected as our finalists. From these finalists, SCEA will choose one Grand Prize winner and four First Prize winners on the basis of originality, quality/polish, Toyota Prius brand awareness, and use of the items obtained from our LittleBigPrius level. The Grand Prize winner will be awarded a 46” Sony Bravia 3D HDTV and a PlayStation Move hardware bundle which includes a PlayStation 3 system, the PlayStation Eye camera, PlayStation Move motion controller and Sports Champions game. The four First Place winners will receive a PlayStation Move Sports Champions bundle, consisting of the game, the PlayStation Eye camera and a PlayStation Move motion controller. Source

Modern Combat: Domination | Exclusive PlayStation Move Title

This is available for $8 on January 18th. Looks like you get a lot for your money too. There are 6 online modes with up to 16 players, 5 maps, 72 level XP ranking system with unlockable equipment and 13 weapons. You can play with the PlayStation Move or with a standard controller. Hopefully you can filter games to be only people using a controller or PlayStation Move. The sound you hear when you kill somebody reminds me a lot of Killzone 3. The basic look of it reminds me of the Call of Duty Series. Will you be picking this title up next week? Via gamersmint

Online Hacking Already Started on the PS3? | Modern Warfare 2 [Update: False]

I got a email from Holly through our contact form saying somebody hacked her account on Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. She said that another player hacked the game she was playing in and made her 10th prestige. During the game the guy had some kind of hack and he couldn’t die and put everyone in a jumble and killed us all. Then my person couldn’t move anymore and it said I was a higher rank and all of my “unlockables” were being unlocked. And now I am in prestige mode and my completion is 100%, but I just want to go back to what I actually was accomplishing. – It unlocked all emblems, call signs, finished all challenges, unlocked all weapons and attachments, and put my completion of online play at 100%. Here is a screenshot of her emblem screen right after she was hacked. This really has me angered, I don’t want to play online games against cheaters/hackers! It’s one thing to hack and cheat in an online game, but to hack and unlock another persons account is even more uncalled for. It’s sad that the PS3 online hacking has already begun. What really worries me is that they can hack other peoples accounts. Make sure you back up your game saves often! If you can’t it’s probably a locked game save, see the full list here . If you see somebody hacking in a game. Report their PSN ID to Sony and to the makers of the game you are playing. Only we can prevent them from playing online with us. [Update] Guess this isn’t due to the PS3 recently being hacked. More of old PS3 game that was hacked and was never patched. False alarm guys.
